Get your own DashLog

What is this site?

This site hosts DashLogs: simple weblogs that point readers to cool pages on the Net.

Is a DashLog like a blog?

Yes, a DashLog is a simple kind of blog, specialized for pointing readers to pages on the Net. If you like a page and think your readers and friends would find it interesting, you just Dash off a short pointer to it. We take care of the geeky details of formatting your Dashes into a web page, creating an RSS feed, and all that.

Some DashLogs are about particular topics, and some are just lists of things that somebody thinks are cool. It's up to you.

Can't I do the same thing with standard blogging software?

You can if you want, but it'll be more complicated, and maybe more expensive. Our system is quick, simple to use, and free.

How do I post something to a DashLog?

When you get your own DashLog, we'll give you a little doodad called a bookmarklet. You put the bookmarklet into your browser's bookmarks (or favorites) list. Then, if you're browsing a page on the Net and you want to write a Dash about it, you just click the bookmarklet. A little box will pop up where you can type a quick little comment about the page; then you click the "Submit" button and the new Dash shows up on your DashLog.

Who are you guys, anyway?
